The Good Ship Band

2010 is set to be a huge year for 4 piece folk rock outfit 'The Good Ship Band' and I am honoured to have been engaged by the band to chart their progress during the next 12 months.
With 2 EP's due for release this year, plus an upcoming album, it is going to be a busy period for this hard working Kent band. Hailing from Tonbridge, they write and perform all their own material at appearances in clubs and venues around London and the south-east and I will work with them to create a photographic record of all stages of their progress - from rehearsal, to writing, recording and live performances. Looks like are going to be a cosy set for the next year.
Last night was our first real get together at The Barn rehearsal room in Tonbridge. Unfortunately we could not be joined by bassist James Elliot or drummer Simon Whiting, who were otherwise engaged, but it did give me time to get to know both composer Jez Harley (vocals, piano, guitar) and Ed Bingham (guitar, keys and backing vocals) and to gain some understanding into the band ethos and direction.
As a music photographer it is a real pleasure when you get to work with gifted individuals and these guys are seriously talented and had my attention well and truly from the first track "Home Town' through to when we finished a couple of hours later, much colder, with 'Boomerang Girl'
Over the next twelve months I will regularly post new photographs of this talented foursome and I would seriously encourage you to a) check out their music at www.thegoodshipband.co.uk and b) try and catch them playing live this year
