Music photography by Mick BustonJust finished reading 'Some People are Crazy', the John Martyn biography, and it got me to thinking and looking back through all my old gig stubs, one of the only things I really collect other than photographs and images.

John Martyn died last year and I was a real fan of his.  As a music photographer I would have loved the opportunity to have captured him with my camera but his passing means that I will have to satisfy myself with having seen him perform live 3 times in 1997 / 1998.  With a group of friends before a gig in Blackheath I even had the brief pleasure of sharing some bar space with the great man before he was due on stage.

As part of my privileged job, I get the opportunity to photograph many bands, musicians and singers and 2010 looks like it will be a busy year for me as a music photographer.  However, I realised that time doesn't stand still and I will also make time to go and see some favourites and new talent in 2010 - purely for pleasure, nothing more and nothing less.
